Truly Blippin' Marvelous

The difference between the kit lens and this 55-200mm is quite evident here.  No post-processing (and I've yet to find where I can crop photos to 16:9 aspect ratio again Found).  I wandered up Flat Top trail from Murray Basin at the wrong time of day for pics but I did meet a couple of tarantulas one of which is pictured in extras (arachnophobes be warned). EDIT: Argh I picked the wrong flower pic extra sorry for the blown white Fixed.  Wow, two days in a row.

This Christmas cactus, Schlumbergera bridgesti, might be more properly be a Thanksgiving cactus, Schumbergera truncata.

The tarantulas might have ventured out now we're enjoying some high pressure good weather after the snow storms.  They're usually on the march looking for mates in September-October.
