Welcome to Toad Hall

Friday 20th Nov 2015 (1182)

An early birthday treat for me today, we went to Chatsworth House to see the Wind in the Willows Christmas decorations and the Christmas Market. I know, a bit early for Christmas but it was a lovely day and a lovely experience.

We arrived, in sunshine, just before lunch and had a quick look at some of the market and then enjoyed the hog roast. We were about to go round the garden when the heavens opened and there was heavy rain. Thankfully it only lasted ten minutes. We had a lovely walk around the gardens for an hour and a half and managed to stay dry, the sun even came out from time to time. I really enjoyed being down by the fountain when the sun gave us a wonderful rainbow display.

We got back to the market just as the rain started, it became very heavy and didn't stop for the rest of the afternoon. We had a good look round, and a lot of tasters, but we were soaked! Finally we got to our time slot and went into the hall. The Christmas display of Wind in the Willows was wonderful, I haven't seen anything quite like it before.

We returned home to dry out and enjoy some Yorkshire fish and chips.

A most enjoyable day. Thanks Mum!
