Skip's Blips

A lady cardinal with her supper

The warm tones of this late afternoon blip are deceiving. There was nothing at all warm about the temperature, which was below freezing. Today was the first time this fall that I wished I had stuck my hand warmers in my pockets.  I wasn't happy about my frigid fingers. Mrs. Cardinal was pretty happy, however. She didn't have a lot of competition for the peanuts, and that suited her fine! The sunny tone of this picture is that result of the very low sun beaming across the meadow, which really made the cardinal's colors glow!

The extra for today is another late afternoon park visitor...actually a pair of them. There were quite a few deer out this afternoon, including one very large buck.
