Beaujolais Nouveau

The release of BN used to be a thing back whenever and I remember the races to get the first bottles to the UK and the resulting parties / promo events, with inevitable consequences. Apparently, the supermarkets wanted a slice of the action, but, of course, in order to join in they insisted on the wine being released a week early so they could get it into their stores on time. So, that killed off all the fun and people started to forget about BN because it was no more a novelty and the race to be the first in the UK was futile because Tesco et al. already had it in stock. Be careful what you wish for ...

Which is a pity, because I am reliably informed the quality is better now than it ever has been. Certainly, these bottles' siblings slipped down without complaint and I reckon they'll do just fine with the snails we bought at Lidl a while back.
