Pool on the edge

Today's hike was high in the Sierras in a place called Hierve el Agua, which basically means boiling water. However, it does not mean that the water is hot, it means that there are many springs where the water is "boiling" up out of the ground. There are a couple of pools that people can enter, but for me the water is way too cold!
Other remarkable things about this place are the petrified waterfalls, which have formed over eons by the highly mineralized water dripping slowly over the edge.
The extra photos show some different views of these areas. The pools are at the edge of the second photo, which was taken at the top of the third. #3 was taken at the bottom. The actual hike went down one side of #3, across the bottom of the valley in front of #2, and up the far side, a distance of about 3 miles. #1 is at the top of #3.
