Early Wishes

The sand sculptor has struck again, a bit early, but still full of holiday cheer.  For one reason or another we haven't been down to the beach for awhile, and it was wonderful to be there on this splendid warm morning. My shoes were pinching, so I took them off to walk barefoot along the tide line--heavenly!

After breakfast we worked out in the yard for a bit, raking up leaves and trimming things just a tad. I'm already worried about frost: the 70 degree days are giving way to 40 and below at night--that's a hard range for plants and people alike.

Somehow the afternoon just slid downhill; we were both unusually tired and abandoned our plans for the evening, opting to sit around and draw or read.
