Helping Hands

Well today was one of the most emotional days of my volunteering experience at the Restart Africa orphanage. This afternoon,  Dan our social worker received a phone call from the child welfare officer in town stating we could go down to the safe house in town to collect a 4 yr old girl who was to be placed in our care. So off Dan and I  went to the safe house known as Helping Hands to collect the manager so we could go to the child welfare officer and sort out the paperwork. Once that was done we went back to the safe house to collect the little girl. This child had experienced horror no adult should have to experience, let alone a 4yr old. This girl has an older brother and sister who have been in the care of the Restart Africa for a number of years. It has been a long time since they last saw each other. Her brother and sister were waiting in the foyer not knowing who they were waiting for. Seeing their 3 little faces as it dawned on them what was happening will be a moment I will treasure for ever. So the siblings have been reunited. The picture is of Dan's hand, my hand and the hands of the three children.
