Tiny Tuesday: Electrical Language

I speak to you through electrical language
Sometimes you hear me when our frequencies meet
You try to listen but you don't understand it
Turn up the rhythm and you'll pick up the beat

Be Bop Deluxe - Electrical Language

Appropriately enough this is the inside of a clock radio.  Unfortunately in a fit of overenthusiastic hoovering at the weekend I managed to break the thing.  As it is Cathy's preferred alarm clock, this was a Bad Thing.  I have spent this evening mending the damage.  Luckily for me it was a really simple job, so all is now well once more.

The song is from Be Bop Deluxe's last studio album.  At this point in time Bill Nelson, the creative genius behind the band was becoming very disillusioned with the guitar hero role that the record company were keen for him to play, and wanted to use synthesisers more in his work. Being a Yorkshire man he was stubbornly keen to plough his own furrow.  Sadly the result was his calling time on Be Bop Deluxe and, from my own shallow guitar hero loving perspective, his next band Bill Nelson's Red Noise, never really managed to recapture the creative magic he had displayed previously.

Finally, a quick thank you to JDO for undertaking the hard work of running Tiny Tuesday for the last month.
