The Last Time I Saw Eve ....

... she was standing in the Garden of Eden-like orchard at Henry Moore's place in Perry Green. She had been loaned for the Moore Rodin exhibition. Moore was inspired and influenced by Rodin's work. I picked a windfall from the ground, polished it, placed it in the crook of her verdigris arm and took a photograph. The red apple reflected on her face and made it appear that she was blushing because she was naked.

Today she stands in the shadow of Nandos lit by peri-peri flames and surrounded by the trappings of Mammon. Quite appropriate as she and Adam were sculpted by Rodin and originally intended to flank his unfinished Gates of Hell.
