the Golden Boys

Another enjoyable Blip-meet in Birmingham organised by Hildarose

This statue, known as The Golden Boys, stands in Broad Street and shows James Watt, Matthew Boulton and William Murdoch, discussing plans for a new steam engine.

Apparently. That’s the official view.  Some people think they are looking at carpet samples for James Watt’s new study, which is why it’s also known as ‘the carpet salesmen’.

We were in town to visit the German Market.  The extra, taken from the roof of the new library, shows some accidental faffing of the image caused by the fumes from vats of Gluehwein and the cooking of 1/2m long bratwurst sausages gradually making their way skywards.
