Leg's Cross

One of the joys of geocaching and following Chester FC around the country is that you end up in unexpected places that you would never have discovered otherwise.

This weekend Chester are playing at Gateshead so we are staying in Newcastle for three nights. On the way we stopped off at a few places to find geocaches. This is Legs Cross an 8th century cross in County Durham. It lies alongside Dere Street the Roman road from York to Hadrians Wall that you can see in the middle of the picture. There are great views here across the Tees Valley.
