Pink Flamingo

Alright it isn't a pink flamingo but there is a similarity I promise you.  This is a Katydid nymph.  I got all excited because it was something I had never seen before and a brief internet search suggested it was a rare Pink Katydid.  Unfortunately a further internet search revealed it was just a common or garden Katydid but in some cases they turn pink, particularly when they had been eating red roses.  So there is the flamingo connection, it has turned pink because of what it ate.  Apparently it will just be a normal green adult when fully grown.

A welcome find when it has been grey and overcast with patches of drizzle.  A visit for Hamish and me to the nursing home and no overnight away because of the weather.
