Ancient Theatre.

Our trip to nearby Serek and the ancient city of Aspendos this morning was excellent helped by more warm sun.

We first saw the Roman Aqueduct and then on to the amphitheatre. It is the most well preserved in Asia Minor and was built in the era of Emporer Marcus Aurelius in Roman style. It is sometimes still used today.

At the very top these arched sections would at one time have been shops. I loved the light and shadow created by the strong sun and especially this little girl delighting in running through the patterns. I waved and said 'hello' and she turned and ran back!

We had lunch by the river after this visit, fresh river trout, and completed our trip with a visit to a restored Roman bridge.

Back at the hotel we had a stroll along the beach and then a couple of Turkish teas sitting by the pool getting a few rays before returning to the cold.

A reminder that it is December and our return to the pre Christmas frenzy, there is a large advent ring burning near the dining room and near our lunch stop there was a tall Poinsettia flowering. (See extra)

I have back blipped yesterday's shot. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2118246239555291584
