The Spanish Steps, Rome.

My sister has recently returned from a holiday to Malta, Sicily and Rome. One of the highlights for her was sitting on these famous Spanish Steps.

The Spanish Steps are a set of steps in Rome, Italy, climbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, and its church at the top. There are 135 steps.

The steps got this name because they link the Bourbon Spanish Embassy with the Trinità dei Monti church. The steps are a huge tourist attraction and show signs of disrepair. They have been restored several times, most recently in 1995.
