Signs & Symbols

After a cold, wet day the sun suddenly broke through at the last moment and the light was incredible. I had to nip into Bantry and coming back was in and out of the car all the way. I pulled in at the swimming beach and to the east it was these pale skyblue pinks, but to the west it was riotous yellows and oranges (see extra). As it's Abstract Thursday I've gone for details but the little lagoon plus swans was also looking pretty spectacular,

Other than that it's been more painting - second coat for the bookcases and alcoves. I didn't think we had that many books - wrong! The trouble is you get distracted and start browsing - a small selection viewable from the nearest heap: The Domesday Book; The Essential Van Gogh;  Landscape photographer of the Year 5; Circles of Stone; The Man in the Ice; Abandoned Ireland; Oak Furniture, the British Tradition, World Mythology;  Megalithic European; Who's Who in Tudor England, and Visual Displays of Quantitative Information (! Himself'). The woodwormy corner has been sorted and things can start going back tomorrow.
