Plus ça change...

Panier d'or

Early start to save CarbBoy from his self-imposed poetry hell.

Then school bills to write, with lots of notes to parents who can't or won't pay, or want to pay in another way, like we're some huge company with an office full of payment handlers, rather than a handful of parents trying to keep a two-room school afloat.

Much later, dizziness struck, but help was at hand thanks to chauffeur Mr B, who dutifully drove me to school, on a fruitless mission to pick up our Christmas tree, later a successful mission for the tree and, lastly, to see CarbBoy's trial for the Panier D'Or at basketball.

The kids have to shoot baskets from various positions, with running and against time. To his, and our, surprise, CarbBoy turned out to be rather good at this and, thanks to a cool head, won. Other boys reacted badly to missing baskets, but CarbBoy was calm and disciplined and we were of course proud to bursting.

The sting in the tail is that the next round is being held in the holidays, when we are away. Why they would have a contest for school kids in the holidays is beyond me, but there you go.

Anyway it means the 'firm talk' I have promised CarbBoy over the string of falsehoods that lead to the poetry crisis has been delayed. Soon though...

A part of this afternoon was spent consulting with Mr B on Investment matters. If you have not seen it, look at the blipfoto blog and try to think more about the worth of the community than your disappointment at being let down by previous management teams. I've bitched and whined with the best of them about past changes, but when it comes down to it, blip gives me more than I give it. Perhaps time to redress that balance.

The future's bright?
