Christingle...

Into Cambridge for the morning. First stop was Christ's College (extra photo 1), founded in 1505 and where Charles Darwin studied, before browsing the markets (extra photo 2) and doing a spot of Christmas shopping.

After a quick visit to the Mill Road Christmas Fair for some mulled wine and live music, we headed back to Ely and to the Cathedral for their Christingle service. A beautiful service in a stunning setting, with the most amazing Christmas tree! It took two people four days to decorate it!!

The Christingles were lit, the children gathered around the altar, the lights were dimmed and the congregation sang Away In A Manger, magical...

(Sorry to have got behind again. I think I'm going to end up having a mammoth catchup session when I get home...)
