La Paz, Bolivia

We had a crazy weekend in La Paz at the Wild Rover hostel. From the minute we arrived in on Friday and were reunited with Alan and Duffy, it didn't stop. They've a great bar in the hostel and Jack, Billy and all staff are great fun. The four of us were joined by Brian and Deirdre from Tipperary and Dublin, Ciaran and Ray from Limerick, and Tom, Danielle, Gillian and Katie from Dublin as we enjoyed the weekend including an early start on Sunday with the All Ireland semi final between Dublin and Mayo.

The one time we did get out of the hostel we went on a great walking tour around the centre of the city of La Paz. We were lucky that it was a national no car day so we got to see the usually very busy and loud city in a quieter light. The tour included the famous witches market and a visit to the main square where the presidents office is.

Today we said an emotional final goodbye to Alan and Duffy as they headed south and we won't see them again until we return home to Dublin in December. Tomorrow we catch a bus up to the north of Bolivia to the jungle for an Amazon pampas tour which we're both really looking forward to.
