Judy Murray tennis court Park of Keir -lost vote

We are still reeling from todays events. The councillors decided by 5 votes to 3 to turn down Judy Murray's "vision" to build a tennis centre, Murray museum, football pitch, hotel, executive housing and golf course on Park of Keir .

Yes she wanted to turn this idyllic scene (pictured) into a sports centre with an average of 750,000 visitors a day!....

It's been a nail-biting day. If I had realised how close the votes would be I doubt if I would have slept during the past week. The Council held the Hearing in Victoria Hall, Dunblane and about 200 peopel turned up.The hall was packed, standing room only.
It's been a day that will go down in local history of how grassroots community took on a battle with the Murray Brand, deep pockets, PR puffery and a developer who has tried for years to build  on this site.

When  Judy Murray came along wanting to build a museum to her sons(Andy and Jamie) and a tennis centre along with executive houses, golf course etc  the developer could not believe his luck. He thought his Christmases had all come at once. She became his Trojan horse to break the Greenbelt and a goldmine of executive housing.

The media were waiting for us all when we came out. Judy Murray rushed out, head down refusing to comment .
