Distant Fire

This current weather pattern of hot dry weather is very worrying. Yet another forest fire is burning to the west of Blenheim up the Wairau Valley. Our Marlborough Camera Club held its Christmas function at a member's home on an elevated site out in the country. From there at sunset we could see the distant smoke of the fire. It is currently being fought by several helicopters as it is too dangerous for land-based fire fighters.
