Under the Oak

On our last full day in England Kathryn and I took a wreath to our parent’s grave by Martlesham Church. After that we continued on a walk to Martlesham Creek, passing under this magnificent oak. There aren't many trees like this one in my part of the world. We do, however, have a young oak in our garden. With global warming under way perhaps it will look like this one day, though we won't be around to see it.
The day was unseasonably warm even with the sun hidden and we really felt the warmth when the sun shone!
I noticed that before the last autumn leaves had fallen from the trees there were shoots of spring growth pushing up from the soil.
This part of the world is very lovely!
