Not just for Christmas

I am always struck by this cross which sits by the filling station in  Arrochar next to a small caravan park.   It has been erected in a very prominent corner on the A83 and can't be missed.

It is  formed by a rope of white bulbs attached to wood and it is lit up every night, not just at Christmas (or Easter) time but I don't know who is responsible.   Perhaps someone who sees this will be able to tell me.

(PS: My extra picture today is another one from the roadworks I blipped last week .  There was a lot of reaction to it but things have not improved.  This is  what is meant to be the pavement at  a major junction, much used by those walking to the city centre .  It is  even difficult to squeeze past on the bit of road which has  temporary barriers for pedestrians, not least because it is sodden with leaves and debris.   The road into Royal Terrace is meant to re-open tomorrow having been closed since the last week in October.  This morning it didn't seem to be  remotely close to being finished.)
