Lala's Journal

Night walk

What a busy day. Mr L off to work at 7 and despite that I really
enjoy a lie in at the weekend, it was not to be. The builders were coming back at 7:30 to complete the patio, and the kitchen light, ordered online was due to arrive any time between 7am and 8pm!

I cleaned cupboards out, changed the bed, started an online grocery order for Christmas, wrapped presents until I ran out of paper and did 3 loads of laundry, all in time for Mr L returning at 2pm.

The light arrived, the builders finished and were paid and off we flew to the village for the last few presents and groceries for the week.

By the time we got back and unpacked, it was time to walk Dog. It was already dark and I had taken no photos! So here it is for today, the stretch of coastline from Dymchurch to Folkestone in the dark. Dog was most put out we wouldn't go down on the beach, but there is no lighting and it was just too difficult to see where dune ended and beach began.

Back home Mr L decided to deal with the light. In the week, I had smelt burning and eventually the smell was traced to the offending light. In a former younger life Mr L was an electrician and he investigated to find connections and wires so burnt he decreed we needed a new light fitting. Which brought us to this point of fixing the thing! Unfortunately it all took longer than planned. The wires were baked and burnt and the ceiling had been hacked at by previous owners to get a fixing!

Now friends who know Mr L wonder how I put up with him! My Mum used to say he was only happy when he was moaning. BUT. He does get the job done and he did today but it was painful on my ears! What's worse is that there is a second light exactly the same, so now that one has to be checked too.

After all that we got the Christmas tree in, sawed the bottom etc and put in its stand in the sitting room. It's still there, unadorned, because we were now very hungry. I cooked dinner, watched the last half of that awful XFactor and am now blipping from my bed!

Night night!
