Saga of the Open Rear Window

We drove to NYC today for a few days, stopping on the way in New Haven for a late lunch with my son Adrian and his partner Liv.  Driving afterwards to drop them off Adrian opened our rear window on the driver's side--and then it would not close.  With rain forecast and the prospect of having to park on the street in Manhattan, we drove to this auto service to see whether it could be corrected.  After two-and-a-half hours--including much discussion about our alternatives if it stayed unfixed, the problem was diagnosed--a bad window switch; the service couldn't fix that but they did close the window, and we were able to drive on.  Here you see our little group (minus the photographer)  discussing our options. It actually was a good  experience--the repair people were pleasant to deal with, and obviously competent.  "PEP BOYS" was the name of the garage (it's even on the blipfoto map)--I didn't ask where it came from.
