Tawny Pipit(Anthus campestris)

A new bird, one I've never seen before, I've photographed a cousin called the Tree Pipit, but not the Tawny. He's very distinctive with his long legs and sleek body and he doesn't have the heavy brown streaks on his chest like the Tree or Red throated Pipit. This bird spends most of his time on the ground and his long legs help him move around, hopping from one rock to the other, finding his insect prey. Pipits are apparently closely related to Wagtails. The extras are a photo of the view from nearly 4, 000 feet up and a very hairy four wheel drive up, very, very loose rock tracks( with crazy hairpins and steepness)This is looking from the Hajar mountains to the sea and an unusual butterfly especially for Steve&Kerry! Huge compound eyes and large body on this one!
