A day of relaxation from start to finish; when it wasn't necessary to leave the gaff at all. And the Christmas tree got well dressed to festive music and a teeny glass of port or two. Blissful indeed.
The impeller was well forgotten until I had a good text conversation with the Cap'n, currently residing somewhere out in the wilds.
And a couple of things to remember from this week - the passing away of William McIlvanney who I'd blipped just a year back at the book festival. There's a cracking picture of him somewhere out there on the net in the eighties sitting at the counter in Clarks Bar.
And Ian Bell too - a bit of a loss to the tiny pool of Scots journalistic talent, though I've got to say he recently turned into a bit of a grumpy old loudmouth.
No shortage of them though. Yes, yes, I'm still here.
