Victorian Christmas

My husband and I visited historic Bellefonte today to check out their charming annual Victorian Christmas celebration.
We spent some time perusing the arts and crafts that were being sold (and bought some really lovely handcrafted Christmas jam). Next, a stop at one of the local thrift shops yielded a couple of very nice little ceramic buildings that have now been integrated into my Christmas village display.
A short walk up and down a few of the main streets to take in the holiday ambiance, delicious dinner at local hot spot Jim's Italian Cuisine and a walk through the Festival of Trees wrapped up the day's activities. Couldn't ask for a nicer, more hometown Christmasey way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

City sidewalks, busy sidewalks,
Dressed in holiday style,
In the air there is a feeling,
of Christmas
Children laughing,
People passing
Meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner you'll hear :

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
ring- a- ling, hear them ring,
soon it will be Christmas day.

Strings of street lights,
Even stop lights,
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush,
home with their treasures.

Hear the snow crunch,
See the kids bunch,
This is Santa's big scene,
And above all this bustle
You'll hear :
Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city,
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,
Soon it will be Christmas day.
