Doors in Oslo # 79 - Grand Hotel

On my way to Christmas lunch, and the door is a must in my series.
This is the most famous and luxurious hotel in Oslo where celebrities stay when visiting the town, this is also the hotel the nobel peace prize winners stay and greet the people from the balcony.

The building is from 1874 and is design by the Norwegian architect Ole Sverre. It was originally a privat home, and the owner was considered crazy to even think that it would be profitable to open a hotel here. 

The Grand Cafe has been from the start a place for our authors and artists to gather, and for us other to go on special occasions.  It has now been closed down which is a rather shock for the Oslo people. 

There are other restaurants behind these doors with excellent food.
