One of lifes small pleasures....

...is a good library with a fine stock of books, journals and electronic gadgetry. I love library's, they are a good use of square footage of brick, concrete and space.

Halfway way through writing about Dorothea Lange and Manzanar; I am researching her portrayal of that time with imagery from more recent detention and how it is represented within American Art. Started with a head cold though so a warm library and coffee was a good thing today.

Lange was a very interesting personality and photographer and although her migrant mother gets a lot of attention there is a lot more to her work than that image.
