Nordic Walking

After weeks or perhaps months of procrastination, I was out with my walking sticks again. I don't know how popular nordic walking is in the English speaking world, but it has experienced a tremendous boom in Germany over the past ten years. And I was out there with the rest of them. But as with many fads, I lost interest and my poles stood neglected in the umbrella stand in our front hall. But I still believe in it.

It's more than a belief, but believing in its efficacy is also important as motivation. Just in case I wasn't motivated enough I got myself an app for my smartphone, a free download called "My Tracks" that records your path, distance, speed and more. I have a weakness for that sort of thing. My blip is a screenshot of my walk. It wasn't a giant walk, but a good beginning. And it was so much fun!

The part I didn't like was that more than half of the walk is getting to the park. The streets are boring, and while Olympia Park isn't that exciting, it does have some hills, trees, grass, and if you're lucky you might see a  few rabbits. This is the closest park, but Munich has other parks and I have a car to get to them.
