Hectic Day

An early walk down the North Inch with my dog.  It was so cold but welcome after the mud fest yesterday's walk.  We headed over the Nero for breakfast and I sat and thought about how Cameron had got on at the Scout Camp, camping out overnight in these cold conditions..

Back home for a quick snack and cuppa and then picked up Ben and his mummy and we headed over to Falkland for the Christmas Event in Falkland Palace.  We were going on a tour and also a visit to Santa for Ben.  There were also heated marquees in the grounds which were all done up with lights and christmas trees - beautiful!

We were met by the elf who asked Ben's name and also what he would like from Santa and she then slipped into the grotto to let Santa know.  Santa was a lovely chatty man who really seemed to know how to speak to kids.  Some are hopeless, I've seen many over the years.....  We were in around 10 minutes so not rushed.

After that Ben had a run around the grounds and then we popped into Fayre Earth for a couple of presents then up for the car.

I dropped them off home and then was met by Cameron.  I was desperate to know how he got on and it seemed he was pretty cold during the night.  It was -7 in the Trossachs - aaaaargh.  He said on the Sat afternoon he had been walking and doing stuff with just his Scout shirt on .  But during the night he need to get up for a pee and when reaching for his boots they had frozen...  He said he didn't sleep much despite layers on.  One guy in the tent that did sleep had 6 layers on.  He will know better the next time.  His pal had told him that if Cameron hadn't have been there he would have wanted to go home!! He said that the leader told them to huddle together if cold but if really cold to come to him.  No way was I going to do that says Cameron.  I was proud of his endurance because not sure I would have been able to stand it.  He was bedded at 6 and sleeping soon after..  Next day was none the worse.  He's not a moaner, he just gets on with things.
