"Morning Bird Song" Bride of the Plains.

At sunrise on her wedding day "Morning Bird Song" is visited by the married women of her village, who prepare her for the bridal ceremony, as is the tradition of her tribe. They help her into her magnificent fringed and beaded wedding dress and her knee high bridal moccasins. They tie her headdress in place and decorate it with beautiful feathers. Then "Morning Bird Song" takes up the sheaf of prairie grasses and wildflowers, her bridal bouquet. As she emerges for the walk into the centre of the village, she will be joined in union with her young warrior.
This is a limited edition by the artist Sandra Bilotto, and is a copy of an authentic wedding dress as worn by Native American women from the Plains. It was given to me by a dear friend many years ago.
