Mango surprise

Went out with M earlier to look (unsuccessfully) for new coat for her for Christmas. About the last of the eight or nine shops we looked in was Mango.

I was surprised to see this imperial staircase in the store. Prior to being converted into a clothes store the building belonged to Banesto bank. Preservation of the murals by local artist Mariano Moré was one of the conditions of sale when the bank disposed of the building.

So my challenge was to whip out my SLR and grab a shot and put the camera away before anyone, including M, noticed me acting like a tourist.

There are some more detailed photos of the murals and history of the bank branch, by an ex employee, here (in Spanish).
