Journal

This is an entry from a diary belonging to my Uncle George. George joined the RAF as a Navigator in WW2 and sadly died when he was only 19.

We have a large collection of his letters home, photographs, flight Log Books, and 5 wonderful diaries.

The diaries were written in 1938 and show a completely different style of life. No TV. Entertainment was provided by football, trips to the library and chasing the 'Dames' round Hogganfield Loch. He was quite a lad !

Before joining the RAF he was an apprentice Electrician and looked after the Model Train exhibition at the Empire Exhibition in Belahoustan park. There is a rather wonderful website here with the most amazing colour photographs.
