In Flight

Miles was feral this morning.

His behaviour has been pretty bad since we started 'destroying' the house (as he calls the renovation), and has been worsening since we moved out.

This morning, he seemed to hit a peak and refused to get his clothes one, with quite violent rejection of our attempts to calm him down. The result was that we were 45 minutes late to meet up with our friend Winston, who is over from the UK to photograph a wedding in Sydney next weekend.

In the car, we realised that I'd left the pram outside Ikea  yesterday, and a phonecall to them suggested that it hadn't been handed in.

Things were not going well.

Thankfully, brunch at The Vertue of the Coffee Drink was great, and we managed to reign Miles' mood in. After a successful trip to Ikea carpark (just in case), where we picked up the pram (!), we showed Winston our building site and then set off to Yarra Bend Park for a few hours to watch the bats and have a coffee while the plastered was supposed to be finishing off in the living room (no sign of him by nighttime though).

It was great to see Winston, and being forced to be out of the house meant that we had to relax and weren't tempted to try to do any work, so I'm pleased to say that the day ended up much calmer than it had started.
