Tonight the carol singers called

They had only half as many members as last year but they managed a beautiful sound.  Many thanks to them for including us on their round.  

It's been a Christmassy day today.  We ate Christmas lunch at Cannon Hall with my brother, bought a duck for Christmas Day in the farm shop and than large portobello mushrooms in the supermarket in Penistone to make a Mushroom Wellington for one of the days of Christmas - probably Boxing Day.  The supermarket car-park was pretty horrendous (it's difficult on good days) and today wasn't a good day, the rain poured down and the cars kept coming.  It was quite a relief to be home, even though it's meant packing everything away and trying to find enough space in the freezer.
