Avebury (Saturday 19th December 2015)

This is another community shop in the area, run by volunteers.

Still having upload problems. Now I've got the picture up using Safari, I'll go back to Firefox to use my bookmarks etc. to add the rest of the entry...
The problems began with the last new version of Firefox. I've just downloaded a new update but the problem remains unsolved, and Safari works very clunkily on a PC, so please bear with me.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Buddy Holly - You're So Square (Baby I Don't Care) (recorded 19 December 1957, Norman Petty Studio, Clovis NM)
Buddy Holly (vcl, gtr) with Joe B Mauldin (bass), Jerry Allison (dr) and Vi Petty (pno)
Although this Elvis Presley cover had three of the Crickets (including Buddy) playing on it, it was released as a Buddy Holly record. Buddy Holly had two contracts, one as a member of the Crickets and one as a solo artist. Unfortunately these records are these days both reissued under the misnomer 'Buddy Holly and the Crickets' without regard to their original status. This song, recorded on this day in 1957, appeared on the album Buddy Holly, and later appeared as a posthumous single in the UK in 1961.
"Baby I Don't Care was a favourite of Eddie Cochran's and we learned the song from him on the bus during our first tour. We recorded it the next time we got a chance" - Jerry Allison of the Crickets
