Attitude

Neither wet snow, which melted when it hit the ground this morning, nor intermittent heavy rain afterward could quell this male song sparrow's desire to reign unchallenged on our suet feeder.

The juvenile song sparrow in the extra photos was less sanguine about the damp, cold day.

As for me, I picked up a new pair of glasses, did the last co-op shop before the festivities begin, attempted to catch up on journals and comments, did a little more holiday gift wrapping, and tried to use up odd bits in the refrigerator. And I fervently hoped that our combined efforts will keep Blipfoto/Blipfuture afloat!

(If you'd like a respite from the holiday excesses, I recommend this excellent YouTube video from Project Seahorse of a male seahorse giving birth in the wild, photographed by scientists on a research dive in Australia. Fascinating!)
