And then the rains came....

and didn't stop for 24 hours.
This was the River Ure just outside Boroughbridge this afternoon. It's burst its banks and invaded the neighbouring fields.
There is so much water around at the moment it is unbelievable, and very sad for those whose homes have been affected by it. The extra photo (stolen from streetview) shows the river at its normal level.
