Christmas Cake

If you look back to my blip from 26th December last year you may feel that today's picture bears a remarkable resemblance to that one. This is no surprise as it has become a well-established tradition in our family that our Christmas cake should be decorated as a ski slope (I'm not entirely sure why, as none of us are skiers).

We usually hope to have at least one of our 3 lads here at Christmas. This year we only have Son #3 here at the moment, but #2 was here for several days until Tuesday and so the two of them decorated the cake together a few days ago. They always like to dig out their old Playmobil for the purpose (suitably cleaned up of course). (There's a picture of them enjoying another activity together here.)

Apparently there is no big theme to the decor this year, just several little isolated happenings going on. We always seem to be able to spot one poor child completely buried in the snow apart from their red wellies (see back left of the picture). You may also note that a puppy is escaping from Santa's sack so that will be be one disappointed child who'd asked for a doggie for Christmas. A child seems to be running off with one of Santa's sacks (mid left) and I'm wondering if the chap at the front on the left is a shepherd looking for his sheep in the snow. But feel free to make of it what you like!

The family will be pleased that I've now blipped the cake, as we'll finally be able to cut into it and start eating it... :)

Meanwhile, Happy Boxing Day!
