Borage

Never thought I would ever be photographing Borage in bloom in December never mind the 29th of!  -  but here she is, a bit frail and battered but hanging on in there!  The sun was shining but the wind was pretty strong  -  I think the camera captured her fairly well. The climate change hasn't been so kind to other features though, and the flooding situation has left thousands of people with unknown futures. York, for example.  Used to live at number 10 Cemetry Road, York but can never remember flooding in the city like today. The government keeps talking about defences - nowhere have I heard about the consequences of deforestation of our island - particularly in the hills, removing hawthorn hedges from fields so that they can be made bigger and produce more crops  -  all the means of soaking up the water before it reaches the rivers.  And where are the Roadmen that used to maintain the ditches beside our country roads?
