Mahlzeit!
"Mahlzeit*" is a very old fashioned greeting, you won't hear it very often. Unless you work for a large insurance company in Wiesbaden where you'll hear it every day between 10 and 3.
We went to the canteen for lunch and for once there were no queues (it was noon), hence the Blip. And instead of struggling to find a place to sit, we could take our choice. Very relaxing.
The people in the canteen are great, they're pretty much always cheery despite neverending queues of people.
There were 3 options today: stir fried veg with noodles, Currywurst with chips & sheek kebabs with spiced cabbage pickle, yoghurt & rice. And portions are always huge. It's often a struggle to stay awake after lunch.
*It would translate as "Mealtime" and that's just a weird thing to say to anyone. I've responded with "Futterzeit" (feeding time), which elicits very confused looks.
