Rainbow on Harlaw Reservoir

Today has been long-planned as one to spend with our friends K and J. We started with a bird-watching walk in the Pentlands, complete with picnic in a wildlife hide. We saw swans, goldeneye, coots, a buzzard, chaffinches, tufted ducks, a cormorant, and greylag geese. The weather was mainly fine, with a couple of showers that brought us this beautiful rainbow over Harlaw Reservoir.

Afterwards we came back into town for tea, cake and biscuits at our flat. This evening we are going out to the cinema to see The illusionist. I have wanted to see this film for a while, mainly because it is set in Paris, the Hebrides and Edinburgh. However, I am a little concerned that it does not feature much dialogue. We'll see what I make of it. Then for supper we will probably have a curry or sushi in town.

Exercise today: 2 mile run (before we met K and J), walking (23,282 steps by the time we returned home after the film and supper).
