a lifetime burning

A long way to mow

With no off-spring at home Cathy and I decided to take advantage of today's dry and sunny weather, before tomorrow's storm arrives.  We have a nice 8 mile circular walk with a pub lunch at the half way point.

On the way up Fairy Hill (no, really), having just crossed Wodin's Dyke (the Wansdyke) we came across the local farmer flailing his hedges.  He's making a good job of it, and he has a lot of them to do, but I'm not a fan of the damage that it does to the thorn bush hedges in the short term.  As a cyclist I am also not a fan of the trimmings which potentially lead to an all too hard to avoid puncture.

This evening was spent in the kitchen, as it is turkey curry night - I do like a nice balti turkey :-)  Needless to say, we have enough to be able to put several meal's worth in the freezer too.  It will be very welcome mid January.

The extra is the next of the anagrams of Christmas.
