Scoots, Shoots & Leaves

Walking a fine line....

What a wonderful day we've had today, celebrating Liza's 3rd anniversary of being part of our family. Two of her favorite people came to help us celebrate. Kendall came over around noon and we all walked/scooted over to Laurelhurst Park.

I knew the park would be busy today, it being the 4th of July. It was wall to wall people! And what a variety of activities! Frisbee, hula hoops, badminton, soccer, volleyball, skateboards, dancing, picnicking, yoga, music playing, hackey sack, bicycling -- but this was a new one for me: tightrope walking. This young man was quite good at it and had at least one young woman swooning.

Emma joined us when we got home and we had a lovely nosh in the back yard, sang some songs to Liza and reminisced about her first day here in that very spot three years ago. She was so tiny - 2.5 pounds - we were afraid we'd lose her in the grass!

There are a few Liza photos from her day in this slideshow.
