Stillness

"My life is small
but rooted deep
among the rocks
that define a landscape
rich in trees.
Though savage gales have
ripped off limbs,
the trees survive,
mute and stoic,
heartwood exposed,
waiting for new bark to
bind the ragged edges
of their wounds.
I, too, have felt the wind
and heard the sharp report
of breaking boughs
and now in stillness
wait for healing to begin."   Sydney Eddison

“Smile, breathe and go slowly.”
