My Best Efforts - Year 3

Pink and Blue............

.......................This is a rather nice Clematis - I was going to post just a close-up of the flowerhead but then I decided that the blue of the Canterbury Bells contrasted quite well with the pink of the Clematis - so I left it alone.

Different varieties of Clematis grow in many parts of the world - China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Balearic Islands and Southern Europe for example. The wild one is sometimes called Old Man's Beard. (referring to the seedhead when flowering has ceased.)
The forerunner of some of the beautiful hybrids available today was C.Jackmannii raised by Messrs. Jackman of Woking in 1860.

It rained again , very heavily, in the night but sun is trying it's best to get through now.

I thought the following little poem by the late Spike Milligan might amuse you - the spelling is his not mine(!) :-

___________

There are holes in the sky.

There are holes in the sky
Where the rain gets in
But there ever so small
That's why the rain is thin.

Have a nice day.
