Roscon de Reyes - Kings' Day Cake

A very windy day with sun and cloud.

Awoke late this morning after very late night on New Years Eve (well early morning!)   Still catching up with our sleep!

We went to our local Carrefour this morning and the Roscon de Reyes were displayed.   It is the first time we have been able to buy just a slice which is a great idea as by this time we have one eye on the New Year's diet!!!   We bought two slices, one with chocolate and one plain.

The cakes are made of a sweet bread dough in the shape of a ring decorated with preserved fruit and crystalised sugar.   They are supposed to represent the Crowns of the Three Kings bringing gifts to baby Jesus.   Most Spanish households will have one.

I missed doing the special 'Blip' blip yesterday and since I have not posted one I may do it tomorrow as a backblip- as I had it all planned!
