Dramatic light

Fantastic light nearly all day and we did nt get wet which was a total surprise.
I was in the garden, mild and no wind and a dark sky and sunlight. The sun lit up the wings of two red Kites as they flew over the top of the field, hoping they might be looking for a nesting site as they have been around quite abit.
A buzzard was down on the ground gathering worms that had risen to the surface after the rain.
A female Sparrowhawk scared a flock of goldfinches from the oak tree. The bird song has began including the squawking of a male Pheasant and the chattering of Great tits.
We went down to the Point to see if we could see any Little Auks that had been sighted yesterday and we were in luck. Mind you I thought it was abit of rubbish to start with, so tiny, amazing how these little birds can survive. Several further out too.
The light looked fantastic, very black skies over Inverness and over the hills but, as you can see , Rosemarkie was in the sunshine. Only one more day that we'll be able to drive down to the carpark as it's closed for the next few Months. You can still walk down but we'll miss just popping down to see what's happening.

David is on his way back from Edinburgh with a bus from Perth which gets in at about 9.30pm. Hope the track does nt take too much longer to fix. Will have to check on the Kyle of Lochalsh train too for next weekend otherwise we might have to drive David to Skye.
