Thanked

Not too early a start for the last day of the holidays but Bailey wasn't up for a lie-in and we were up and around the block before 9am. Home to take down and stow away the decorations with Bailey's 'help' (he does like a bit of tinsel!) and we were all done by half ten. Bedding washed and general tidying done, including unpacking of the things that were brought in yesterday and not put away.

It has been a wet day all day and Bailey has required three walks, although just around the block on the wettest two. And this afternoon we have been visited by his favourite, the official Bailey-sitter and the bestest friend, bearing a very well-received gift for Bailey and recruited for a bit of minor furniture shifting in order to plug in my new lamp. It was lovely to see them.

There has been some mention in the media of thank you letters dying out. The official Bailey-sitter never misses and has surpassed herself this year: a thank you letter in a bottle. She is a gorgeous girl.

Back to work tomorrow - though no students in until Tuesday - so it'll be a shock to both of our systems having had two weeks of just suiting ourselves. I'm sure we'll cope.
